Why Merge PDFs?

- Combining multiple expense receipts into one report
- Merging chapters of a research paper
- Joining signed documents with cover pages
- Consolidating meeting notes from different sources
How to Merge PDFs
Step 1: Upload Your Files
Head over to the Merge PDF tool and drag your files into the upload area. You can also click "Choose Files" to browse your computer. PDFit supports merging up to 20 files at once.
Tip: The order in which you upload files determines their order in the final document. Drag and drop to rearrange them before merging.
Step 2: Arrange the Order
Once uploaded, you'll see thumbnail previews of each page. Simply drag and drop to reorder them. You can also delete pages you don't need by clicking the trash icon.
Step 3: Download Your Merged PDF
Click the "Merge PDF" button and your combined file will be ready in seconds. The merged document downloads directly to your device — no server upload, no waiting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a file size limit?
PDFit handles files up to 100MB each. For most documents, this is more than enough.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device.
Can I merge PDFs on mobile?
Absolutely. PDFit is fully responsive and works on any device with a modern browser.
Can I choose the page order before merging?
Yes. Once your files are uploaded, drag and drop them to rearrange the order. The final document follows the exact order you set.
Does merging reduce the quality of my PDF?
No. PDFit merges your files losslessly — text, images, and formatting stay exactly as they are in the originals.
How many files can I merge at once?
As many as you like. Each file can be up to 100MB, and PDFit combines them all in a single pass.
Is merging PDFs really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark, and no hidden limit. Merge as many documents as you need, as often as you like.
What happens to my files after I merge them?
Nothing is stored. Your files are processed entirely in your browser and are deleted the moment you close the page.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
PDFit can merge unlocked files. If a PDF is password-protected, unlock it first with our Unlock PDF tool, then merge it.
Do I need to install any software?
No. Everything runs in your browser — there is nothing to download, and PDFit works on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
